Role Overview
We are delighted to be able to offer some exciting opportunities for the roles of team managers within our Social Work Service area of work. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape practice, support brilliant social workers, and drive better outcomes for children and families in the service areas responsible for children and families in need of assessment, Child in Need, Child Protection and Court work. These services are critical in terms of Families First Reforms and so this also is an exciting opportunity to be part of influencing and leading teams through change. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a statutory social work team who are responsible for Assessment, CIN and Child Protection and Court work
- Ensure high-quality, child-centred practice and effective risk management.
- Provide supervision, support, and performance management to staff.
- Maintain oversight plans, ensuring clear outcomes for children.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support effective practice
- Monitor performance, quality of practice, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualification experience in statutory children’s social care
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and thresholds.
- Demonstrable ability to manage risk and make sound decisions in complex situations.
- Experience of performance management, quality assurance and driving improvement.
- Excellent communication and partnership working skills.
- Commitment to high-quality, child-centred practice and continuous professional development.
