GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join a school in Wakefield (WF5) , with an immediate start available. If you can take responsibility for a classroom, follow prepared work and keep pupils engaged, this could be a strong opportunity for you.
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you won't be expected to deliver new teaching content. Instead, your focus will be on making sure pupils can continue learning effectively when their usual teacher is unavailable.
What you will do Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise classes and ensure pupils follow the work provided by teaching staff.
* Establish clear expectations from the beginning of each lesson.
* Encourage pupils to remain focused, engaged and respectful.
* Deal with low-level behaviour calmly and confidently.
* Support pupils where they need clarification or encouragement.
* Report any significant behaviour or learning concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
* Follow school procedures relating to safeguarding, attendance and health and safety. What We're Looking For: * Previous experience working as a CS with children or young people is desirable.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* A confident and composed approach to managing different situations.
* A valid enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new enhanced DBS check.
* A genuine interest in supporting pupils and contributing positively to their school experience.
