Computer Science Teacher - Outstanding Secondary School...
A forward-thinking and well-regarded secondary school in Bristol is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join its successful Computing department from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach in a supportive and technologically advanced environment where computational thinking, coding, and digital innovation are highly valued.
Computer Science is a flagship subject within the school, with strong participation at KS3 and KS4 and a clear focus on developing programming proficiency, cybersecurity awareness, and systems architecture knowledge. The Role
Teaching Computer Science across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 (A-Level) depending on experience
Planning and delivering engaging lessons in Python, Java, and web development
Supporting pupils with NEA project work and examination preparation for GCSE/A-Level
Promoting high standards of digital literacy and online safety
Encouraging creativity through game design, robotics, and app development
Monitoring pupil progress and using assessment effectively to raise attainment
Contributing to wider STEM initiatives and extracurricular coding clubs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related subject
Experience teaching Computer Science at the secondary level
Strong subject knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and programming
High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress
A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach
