- Salary: £39,500–£42,000 plus approval and performance-related bonus
- Location: Guildford assessment centre
- Working pattern: Monday to Friday, office hours only
- Hybrid working: A mixture of working from home and in the local office
- No nights, weekends or shift work
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Right to work in the UK required (sponsorship not available)
- Full-time and part-time roles available
- Part-time options typically 3 to 4 days per week
- All roles require completion of a full-time training programme. This is a minimum of 9 weeks , but may be longer depending on individual progress or any periods of absence
You will complete structured functional assessments across PIP or WCA services, focusing on how health conditions affect daily living or work capability. Assessments are completed via:
- Telephone
- Video consultation
- Face-to-face (non-clinical setting)
Typical workload:
- PIP: around 3 assessments per day
- WCA: around 4 to 6 assessments per day
- Carry out structured functional assessments using clinical judgement
- Review medical evidence and supporting documentation
- Produce clear, objective, evidence-based written reports
- Communicate professionally and empathetically throughout
- Provide hands-on clinical care
- Prescribe or deliver treatment
- Make diagnoses
- Make benefit entitlement decisions
- Work nights, weekends or shifts
- Nurse (RGN / RMN / RNLD) – NMC registration required
- Minimum 12 months post-registration clinical experience
- Good communication and report writing skills
- Comfortable using IT systems
Salary and benefits
- £39,500–£42,000 salary (pro rata for part-time)
- Approval bonus and performance-related bonus
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Pension contribution up to 6%
