About the role
This new role supports the design, coordination, and delivery of the British Museum's talent development initiatives, with a focus on early and entry-level career pathways such as apprenticeships, internships, and work experience. The role also provides support to the Talent Acquisition team across all recruitment activities and projects. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to help shape how people grow, learn and thrive across the Museum. At its heart, this role is about unlocking potential - creating meaningful opportunities for people at every stage of their career and helping to build a culture where learning feels accessible, inclusive and genuinely empowering. You'll play a key part in designing and delivering programmes that are purposeful, thoughtful and rooted in the real experiences of our people. You'll be central to bringing our new approach to life - supporting early and entry-level talent, strengthening management development, and providing thoughtful, end-to-end support throughout the recruitment journey. About you We're looking for someone who is naturally curious about people, how they develop, and the future skills that will shape the workplace. You'll bring knowledge of apprenticeships and UK levy frameworks, alongside an understanding of university and school engagement strategies. Equally, you'll bring calm organisation to complex ideas, enjoy building trusted relationships, and take real pride in making things happen with care, creativity and attention to detail. You'll be joining a friendly, supportive and ambitious team who care deeply about what we do. Together, we're committed to creating opportunities, helping managers grow with confidence, and creating meaningful pathways for emerging talent through apprenticeships, education partnerships and future-focused development initiatives. By connecting people with opportunities and promoting skills in areas such as digital, leadership and the impact of AI on roles, you'll help shape a working environment where everyone feels able to contribute, progress and belong. Key areas of responsibility * Coordinate and support early careers programmes, including apprenticeships, internships, and work experience initiatives.* Assist in the design and delivery of talent development programmes and learning interventions, including management training.
* Provide administrative and operational support across programme delivery (e.g. scheduling, events, onboarding, tracking progress).
* Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g. schools, universities, training providers).
* Support recruitment activities for early career talent, ensuring an inclusive and positive candidate experience Benefits At the British Museum, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do and have designed a benefits package that goes beyond the ordinary. Our full list of benefits can be found here, but we've outlined some highlights below: * Free exhibition entry for you and guests, exclusive private views, ICOM and reciprocal museum access.
* Civil Service Pension Scheme defined benefit with 28.97% employer contribution.
* 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and 2.5 privilege days (and +5 days after 10 years).
* Social and wellbeing perks including Staff parties, social clubs, CSSC sports and leisure, and support from the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship.
* Peer support and allyship with five diversity networks for community.
* Learning and development through courses, mentoring and Athena as well as support for professional qualifications.
* Enhanced parental leave including maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave.
* Interest‑free loans including season ticket, rental deposit and bicycle loans. If you have any additional needs that we should be aware of to support you with your application, please provide details Right to Work: The British Museum holds a Skilled Worker sponsor licence. Applicants are responsible for determining whether the advertised salary and role meet current UKVI sponsorship requirements and for ensuring they have, or can obtain, the appropriate right to work in the UK. The Museum cannot provide immigration advice, and eligibility should be checked before submitting an application. The Museum also adheres to the HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) for pre-employment screening of Civil Servants.
