Support scrub/circulating teams: open sterile consumables correctly, manage non‑sterile tasks, and act as runner between sterile field and support areas.
Assist in recovery: comfort measures, positioning, fetching equipment/fluids as directed, and handover support.
D. Documentation, Communication & Governance
Contribute to accurate, timely care records and reports; follow established communication and reporting systems (including electronic systems) and escalate promptly if concerned.
Participate in regular theatre meetings, safety briefings, and debriefs; share learning and contribute to continuous improvement.
Uphold Equality & Diversity standards, treating all patients and colleagues with dignity and respect.
E. Stock, Equipment & Revenue Capture
Support stock control: receive, rotate, and top‑up consumables; check expiries; report variances/damages; handle pharmaceuticals in line with policy.
Ensure revenue capture by documenting item usage accurately (including implants/consumables), recording chargeable items, and documenting any wastage.
Perform basic equipment checks within scope; report faults immediately and remove unsafe devices from use.
F. Safety, Escalation & Professional Conduct
Work within your competence; recognise limitations; seek help and escalate concerns to senior staff without delay.
Take personal responsibility for health & safety; follow safe working practices that protect yourself, patients, and colleagues.
