- A globally renowned life reinsurer are seeking to hire a qualified actuary into their European Protection Pricing team.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong pricing actuary to join a high calibre reinsurance business with genuine international reach across Europe, Asia, Australia and North America. The role will focus on Protection business, covering Life, Critical Illness and Income Protection, with a particular focus on UK and Ireland reinsurance opportunities.The team are responsible for experience analysis, best estimate assumption setting and technical pricing work as part of new business tenders and inforce reviews. They work closely with teams across underwriting, claims, client solutions, research, analytics and wider actuarial functions to deliver commercially robust pricing recommendations.This role would suit a qualified actuary with strong pricing experience who enjoys combining technical analysis with commercial judgement. The successful candidate will take ownership of pricing work, lead parts of the tender process, derive assumptions, review outputs, produce clear documentation and help deliver high quality responses to clients.Key areas of responsibility will include: Leading pricing analysis for Protection reinsurance opportunities across the UK and Ireland Setting and reviewing assumptions for Life, Critical Illness and Income Protection businessManaging pricing work during tenders and inforce reviewsProducing clear reports and executive summaries for senior stakeholdersWorking directly with client facing teams and pricing counterparts during quote processesBalancing technical accuracy with commercial pragmatismImproving pricing processes, documentation and controlsCoaching junior actuarial team members and supporting their developmentBuilding strong relationships across pricing, underwriting, claims, analytics and business development teams
