The Council’s Skills and Employment Team are looking to recruit a Job Coach to support the delivery of the Supported Internship programmes and Supported Employment Service across the borough.
Cheshire West and Chester Council is a place where everyone can Thrive – through our core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Innovation, Value for Money and Empowerment.
Do you want to make a real difference by supporting people into meaningful employment?
Our Supported Internship and Supported Employment pathways help young people and adults with additional needs develop the skills, confidence, and experience needed to secure and sustain paid work through learning in real workplace settings.
The post holder will provide 1:1, person-centred support across our Supported Internship and Supported Employment pathways. This includes supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN) in employment placements as part of the Supported Internship programme, as well as supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism in paid roles through the Supported Employment scheme. The role involves delivering tailored, in-depth instruction and coaching in the workplace, enabling individuals to successfully carry out their job tasks, while gradually reducing support as confidence and independence grow.
We are looking for skilled, proactive, and flexible individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with employers and workplace colleagues, ensuring the right support is in place to help individuals integrate, sustain, and thrive in their placements or employment. You will play a key role in supporting people to transition into work and progress towards long-term, meaningful employment outcomes.
