My client, a FTSE-250 property group are looking to hire an indirect tax specialist to take the lead on all VAT related issues across the group. This is an extremely broad opportunity, whereby the successful candidate will not only be involved in day to day VAT issues, they will also take the lead on system integration and automation of new processes as the group look to streamline their VAT function.
This would be the perfect next step for an experienced and ambitious indirect tax professional with an interest in systems. This is a newly created position, reporting directly to the Head of Tax with the successful candidate having full autonomy of the function.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of VAT returns across the group, ensuring computations are reviewed and submitted on time
- Offer up-to-date VAT advice to the group, answering queries as and when required
- Bringing VAT matters to the forefront of group finance matters
- Manage relations with external advisors and tax authorities
- Support the Head of Tax with international tax advice
Job requirements:
- ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or studying towards
- Understanding of UK VAT compliance is essential
- Previous systems experience is preferable
- Experience within property/construction preferred
- Personable with excellent communication skills
