Nuclear Medicine Clinical Scientist

Full-time

The University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) NHS Trust wishes to appoint a highly motivated Band 7 Clinical Scientist within Nuclear Medicine.

This role will be based between UHL and Northampton General Hospital (NGH) in the provision of a Nuclear Medicine scientist service.

The successful applicant is expected to be a registered Clinical Scientist (or close to registration), ideally with some experience across all areas of Nuclear Medicine.

UHL and UHN Nuclear Medicine services both cover a wide range of diagnostic tests and molecular radiotherapy services (mRT) and provide services across 4 sites in total. Each Trust has an onsite radioparmacy.

At UHN there are 4 gamma cameras across; 1 dedicated cardiac, 1 standard gamma camera and 2 others with CT capability . The mRT service includes iodine ablation therapy, thyrotoxicosis therapy and Xofigo.

The departments participate in clinical research trials. PET-CT is provided at NGH and Glenfield by AML for which UHL currently provide RPA, RWA and MPE services.

Anyone appointed without HCPC registration will be employed under AfC annnex 21

The post holder will prioritise and manage their own work to provide scientific support to the service. The post holder will apply a broad range of scientific skills, knowledge and experience in Nuclear Medicine and will liaise closely with the scientific, medical, technical, nursing and other staff to deliver an effective diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine service.
