The Department & Classroom Environment

• You will be working inside a purpose-built science block featuring dedicated laboratory spaces for practical chemistry experiments, physics modelling, and biological studies.

• The faculty is supported by an experienced team of full-time laboratory technicians who ensure equipment and materials are seamlessly prepared for hands-on learning.

Core Responsibilities

1. Dynamic Lesson Delivery: Planning and teaching high-challenge Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) that build core skills and conceptual understanding.

2. Practical Safety & Skill: Leading safe, organized, and impactful laboratory practicals that train students in accurate measurement, observation, and analysis.

3. Targeted Assessment: Utilizing regular low-stakes testing and formal mock data to identify learning gaps, providing clear feedback that empowers students to close them.

4. Exam Preparation: Ensuring students are thoroughly fluent in exam command words, application questions, and the required practical components for their GCSE specifications.

5. Whole-School Contribution: Participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and the wider pastoral life of the school as a supportive form tutor.

The Successful Candidate We want to recruit a teacher who loves their subject and knows how to break down complex ideas for developing minds. Your application should demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) alongside a degree in a recognized science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or an applied science variant).
