Job description
Classroom Assistant within Jolly Pirates funded pre-school. Assisting in the day to day running of pre-school to ensure high standards of care and will involve the development of relevant and appropriate daily activities under the pre-school curriculum. Fostering relationships with children and parents and ensuring adherence to pre-school policies, health and safety standards, housekeeping standards and record keeping. Working effectively as part of a team with good communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out duties as allocated by pre-school leader
- Ensuring children's needs are paramount during class times
- Supporting pre-school leader in completing relevant records and planning for curriculum
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Must hold a minimum of Level 2 in childcare & education (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of NI Pre-school Curriculum
- Have an awareness of health, safety & hygiene
- Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within a funded pre-school/primary school/childcare sector
- Have valid child protection certificate / first aid certificate
- Experience using parent communication apps
- Have experience of working with children and supporting their additional needs
