Job Overview
Our client is looking to appoint a Caretaker to start in January/February 2026. This welcoming and well-organised school is known for its high standards, strong leadership, and commitment to providing a safe and positive learning environment. The successful Caretaker will play a key role in the day-to-day maintenance, security, and presentation of the school site, ensuring it remains a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The Role
The Caretaker will be responsible for a range of duties including:
Opening and closing the school site, including key holding and security checks
Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and health & safety checks
Maintaining school buildings and grounds to a high standard
Setting up rooms for lessons, exams, and school events
Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues
Supporting health & safety and safeguarding procedures
Caretaker – Experience and Requirements
Previous experience in caretaking, site maintenance, or a similar role (school experience desirable)
Practical skills with the ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks
Good knowledge of health & safety practices
Strong communication and organisational skills
Legal right to work in the UK
A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach
Location: Newcastle, West Midlands
Start Date: February 2026
