Job summary
Due to a retirement, Gosford Hill Medical Centre has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP/retainer to join our team for 4 or 5 sessions a week (Friday all day, Tuesday or Wednesday all day and possibly 1 other flexible session). The sessions themselves can be flexible to a degree with the start and end times. Main duties of the job
You will hold your own patient list (the size of this list is negotiable). You will have 1 dedicated session for administration per month as well as time allocated in each of your 4 regular sessions. You would be expected to provide some Duty Doctor sessions which are allocated on a pro-rata basis. You will be expected to help support the various learners in the practice. About us
We are a friendly, forward-thinking team of 2 Partners and 4 Salaried GPs serving approximately 7500 patients on the outskirts of Oxford. We provide high quality care and value continuity. We are a training and teaching practice and currently undertake ST and FY Dr training as well as Oxford University medical student teaching. We also participate in research projects. We have a full complement of nurses, HCAs, practice pharmacist and Physician Assistant. We also have excellent access to PCN physiotherapy, adult and child counselling and mental health nurse appointments. One of the partners will act as your mentor and meet with you regularly. There is a practice-wide and a GP only Whatsapp group for social and professional purposes respectively. We hold regular whole practice social events.There are regular educational /journal club meetings. We will endeavour to accommodate flexible working hours where possible Pay: Competitive rate of pay dependent on experience and patient list size Benefits: 6 weeks annual leave & 1 week study leave (pro rata)

- Manage face-to-face, telephone, and remote/video patient consultations.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
- Make safe, independent decisions and create patient care plans.
- Prescribe medications and handle repeat prescription requests.
- Make appropriate clinical referrals to secondary or community care.
- Complete occasional home visits if deemed clinically necessary.
- Process lab results, clinical letters, and workflow tasks promptly.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous patient records using clinical system EMIS Web.
- Engage in clinical governance, audits, and Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) workflows.
- Attend internal practice meetings and multidisciplinary team (MDT) updates.
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice and entry on the UK GP Register.
- Inclusion on a local NHS Medical Performers List.
- Commitment to ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and annual appraisals
