Caretaker
Job description
Carry out daily cleaning of community spaces, studios, performance areas, meeting rooms, offices, kitchens, and washrooms. Assist with the setup and takedown of furniture, equipment, and staging for arts workshops, rehearsals, performances, and community events.Monitor the condition of the building and outdoor areas, promptly reporting any maintenance or safety concerns. Manage deliveries and help organise storage areas for materials, props, and equipment. Ensure all waste and recycling are disposed of responsibly and that bins are regularly emptied. Follow all GSCA health, safety, and safeguarding policies. Provide a friendly and helpful point of contact for community members, artists, and visitors using the centre.
Responsibilities
- Possible key holder, responsible for opening and closing of the building and ensuring alarms etc are functioning.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs, painting touch-ups, or tightening fixtures.
- Support evening and weekend events as required, including opening, closing, and assisting with event logistics.
- Maintain building security by locking/unlocking doors and monitoring access when on duty.

Essential Skills
- Time Management & Organisation Skills.
- Security & Access Management skills.
- Health & Safety Compliance experience and Practical & Maintenance Skills.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a caretaker role and clean driving licence
