Team Leader Intensive Support to Young People - (Perm / Full Time) - REF:HSCP / 83335 - INV06821
Job Description
Join a service that is transforming how we support young people as they move towards adulthood and independence.
This is an exciting time to join our Intensive Support for Young People Service, as we enter a period of redesign and development. The service brings together provision traditionally recognised as Throughcare and Aftercare alongside intensive support for young people in conflict with the law, Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC), and other young people aged 12–26 with complex needs who require coordinated, multi-agency support.
As Team Leader, you will have an important opportunity to help shape the development of the service, providing strong operational leadership while supporting a skilled and committed workforce to deliver high-quality, relational and trauma-informed practice.
At the heart of our approach is The Promise and our ambition that young people experience consistent, trusting relationships and receive the right support, at the right time, for as long as they need it. We have introduced Signs of Safety and Healing as our practice framework, supporting strengths-based, and collaborative work with young people, families and partner agencies.
As Team Leader, you will:
- Provide operational leadership, professional guidance and high-quality supervision to staff working with young people and young adults.
- Lead and support the continued development and redesign of the Intensive Support for Young People Service.
- Promote relationship-based, trauma-informed and rights-based practice, embedding The Promise and Signs of Safety and Healing across the service.
- Support high-quality assessment, planning and intervention for care experienced young people and those with complex needs, including consideration of contextual safeguarding and the risks young people may experience within their communities and wider networks.
- Provide leadership in our work with young people in conflict with the law, promoting an approach which recognises the impact of trauma, adversity, exploitation and unmet need.
- Promote partnership working across Children’s Services, Housing, Health, Education and the third sector to ensure young people experience coordinated and effective support.
- Promote a positive learning culture where staff are supported to develop, reflect on practice and deliver the best possible outcomes for young people.
We are looking for an experienced and confident practitioner and leader who shares our ambition for young people and understands the importance of relationships, continuity and compassionate support. You will bring strong professional judgement, an ability to support and develop others, and the confidence to contribute to service development during a period of positive change.
You will find that Inverclyde is a great place to work. We are small enough to be agile and responsive, with a visible and engaged senior management team, allowing you to make a real difference, while offering strong professional support, development opportunities and contributing to a positive team culture.
If this sounds like where you’re meant to be, we would love to hear from you. For an informal discussion about this exciting opportunity and to learn more about our ambition for the future, contact Emma Bilsland, Service Manager on / View email address on s1jobs.com.
