About the role
Our client, a logistics company in West Flanders, is looking for a Medior Warehouse Management System (WMS) Consultant for a long-term freelance engagement. The consulting team works with customers to analyse warehouse operations, configure WMS solutions and support implementations from the first analysis through to go-live and operational support.
You will analyse warehouse processes and turn operational requirements into WMS configurations and functional specifications. Your work will span implementation projects covering receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, value-added services, cross-docking, shipping, inventory and scanning.
You will stay with customers from analysis through testing, training, go-live and hypercare. The role includes 2 days on site each week, along with customer travel across the Netherlands and Belgium for around 2 days per month.
Main responsibilities
- Analyse warehouse layouts and operational flows across inbound, storage, replenishment, picking, VAS, cross-docking, outbound and inventory control
- Translate warehouse requirements into WMS configurations and functional requirements
- Perform fit-gap analysis and identify configuration options or workarounds
- Prepare functional specifications where development is required
- Configure locations, zones, picking strategies, scanner flows, labels and customer-specific settings
- Coordinate and execute functional testing against the agreed scope
- Support data migration covering items, locations and stock
- Support customers through go-live and provide on-site hypercare
Requirements
Essential
- 2+ years of experience on WMS topics
- Experience analysing warehouse processes and translating them into requirements
- Dutch and English language skills
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Navision
- French language skills
