Senior Infrastructure Engineer

New Permanent Opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with MoD DV Clearance for an exciting Defence SME in Farnborough.

• Farnborough location – full-time on-site
• Must already hold MoD DV Clearance
• Up to £80k DoE plus package - 25 days leave, 15% pension, company bonus
• Experience needed in Team Leadership, Stakeholder Management, Windows Server, VMware, Linux

What will the Senior Infrastructure Engineer be doing?

Maintaining and enhancing secure, multi-classification virtualised and cloud environments across public, private, and hybrid platforms, with senior oversight of monitoring, incident response, change control, and lifecycle management. The role focuses on service improvement, automation, and risk mitigation, alongside providing technical leadership, stakeholder support, and maintaining expertise in cloud and network technologies.

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer Should Have…

• Active security clearance at MoD DV level – due to the nature of the client and role, we can only consider candidates who hold a British passport.
• Be willing to work full-time on client site in Farnborough

Essential Skills Required:

• Team leadership and stakeholder management
• Windows Server 2016+ administration.
• Red Hat OpenShift Linux (CentOS/RedHat/Ubuntu)
• EUD provisioning (Autopilot), maintenance, patching and hardening.
• SSO – concepts and operation.
• Understanding of working in secure environments.
• VMware Azure Networking Automation (scripting Ansible/PowerShell)

Some Desirable Skills:

• Kubernetes administration e.g. VMware TKGI
• VMware vSphere/vCenter/VCF.
• Azure/Microsoft 365 administration.
• DevSecOps Tooling
• Elastic
• Nessus
• Application Packaging
• Terraform
• Vault
• Working in Agile sprints
