Be part of something bigger. Find, grow and back the people who make this Club what it is.

We are the heartbeat of the city, a club with bold ambitions on a global stage and deep roots in our community. If you’re driven to raise the bar, make an impact and contribute to a high-performance culture, you’ll find the platform, the people and the pride to do your best work here.

We work as One Club, with excellence, integrity, accountability and relentless ambition shaping how we work together.

This is a great opportunity to develop, learn and make a real contribution in a fast-paced and exciting environment. You’ll be encouraged to bring curiosity, take ownership, share ideas and keep improving, helping us move Newcastle United forward, together.

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive People Operations Administrator to join our People & Talent team.

Reporting to the People Operations Team Leader, you'll help maintain the smooth day-to-day running of our People Operations function, providing first-line support for a wide range of people-related queries. You'll play an important role in delivering an efficient, compliant and employee-focused service, supporting colleagues throughout their employment lifecycle while helping ensure our people processes run effectively.

What you’ll do

As People Operations Administrator, you will:

  • Provide first-line support for People and HR-related queries, ensuring requests are handled efficiently and professionally.
  • Manage and monitor shared People Operations mailboxes and ticketing systems, escalating complex queries where appropriate.
  • Support employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, contractual changes and leavers administration.
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks, including right-to-work verification, references and DBS checks where applicable.
  • Create and maintain accurate employee records and electronic personnel files.
  • Produce reports, analytics and monthly administration data to support the wider People & Talent team.
  • Draft contracts of employment and variation letters to a high standard.
  • Support audits, compliance activity and month-end administration processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying more efficient ways of working and enhancing people processes.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders across the Club to deliver an excellent employee experience.

What we’re looking for

We're seeking someone with excellent administration and organisational skills who can manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

You'll bring:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or shared services environment.
  • Knowledge of HR or people processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • A discreet and professional approach when handling confidential information.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on accuracy, service and continuous improvement.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above.

The team

You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive and dedicated team who will help you settle in and succeed. We value curiosity, teamwork and a positive approach, and we’re committed to creating an environment where people feel trusted, included and empowered to do their best work.

We work with high standards and a continuous improvement mindset, supporting each other as One Club and taking pride in doing the right thing.

United As One.

We’re committed to building an inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone feels safe, respected and able to thrive. Equality, diversity and inclusion are central to who we are, and we believe the diversity of our people is one of our greatest strengths.

We work as One Club, reflecting the communities we serve, acting with integrity, and creating an environment where everyone can be their authentic self and achieve their full potential.

Safeguarding

We’re committed to creating an environment where everyone is safe, heard, valued and able to thrive. Safeguarding and welfare are central to the way we work, and we expect everyone to play their part in doing the right thing and upholding the highest standards of care.
