Contract: Part-time (34 hours), Permanent

Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Practice Education and Development team for a Band 6 Practice Education Facilitator aligned to the critical care team. This role involves supporting and developing staff and students' educational needs aligned to organisation priorities.

The base site for this role will be Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI), covering general ICU (merged with Medical HDU), Cardiac ICU, Surgical HDU, and the Hyperbaric Unit, which houses the only Category 1 Hyperbaric Chamber in Scotland.

The post-holder should demonstrate excellent care values, enthusiasm to work as part of a team, and the motivation to learn and develop themselves and colleagues within an exciting and challenging high-pressure environment. We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual focused on providing safe, effective, person-centred practice.

Applicants should be a Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and:

• Have extensive experience in critical care, with a post-registration critical care qualification or equivalent.
• Have knowledge or an awareness of the educational pathways in a critical care area.
• Have substantial experience at Band 5 or above in roles that included supporting, supervising, and assessing learners.
• Should currently be a Practice Supervisor/Practice Assessor.
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate and influence change using highly developed interpersonal and diplomacy skills.

The post-holder will work closely with and be supported by the critical care, and wider, Practice Education & Development Team.
