KPI Education is working with high-performing specialist schools in Ealing to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for full-time, long-term positions.

The school provides highly personalised education for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), speech, language and communication difficulties, moderate to complex learning needs, sensory needs, and associated social and emotional needs.

With small class sizes and personalised learning programmes, pupils receive a high level of individual support. Learning is closely linked to EHCP outcomes, with a focus on communication, independence, emotional regulation, functional skills and preparation for adulthood.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and make meaningful academic, social and personal progress. You will work alongside experienced SEN Teachers and a multidisciplinary team, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other specialists.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support across Primary, Secondary and Post-16 settings.

Supporting pupils with Autism and a range of additional learning and communication needs.

Assisting with personalised lessons, activities and individual learning programmes.

Developing communication, social interaction and emotional regulation skills.

Supporting pupils to work towards their individual EHCP outcomes and learning targets.

Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.

Implementing sensory strategies, regulation approaches and behaviour support plans.

Building positive relationships and providing consistent, supportive boundaries.

Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Observing pupil progress and contributing to assessments, reviews and reports.

Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, enrichment activities and learning outside the classroom.

Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive.

About You
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

You may have:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, Autism or additional needs.

A degree or academic background in teaching, psychology, educational psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy or a related field.

Experience in education, care, youth work, residential support or another people-focused environment.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

A calm, patient and empathetic approach.

Resilience and consistency when supporting pupils with complex needs.

A proactive attitude and genuine commitment to helping young people reach their potential.

A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist SEN setting.

Previous school experience is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be provided for candidates with relevant transferable experience and the right attitude.
