Job description

Production Operative based in Newry.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing and assembly.
• Quality control and compliance.
• General support and continuous improvement.
• Operate machinery and tools to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent production quality.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks to identify defects or inconsistencies.
• Ensure all workstations are well-maintained and comply with safety regulations.
• Conduct product testing and inspections to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Report any defects.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Participate in workplace safety training and hazard reporting.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote a safe working environment.
• Follow environmental best practices to minimise waste and support sustainability.
• Assist in stock management and material handling.
• Work collaboratively with team members to enhance production efficiency.
• Participate in training and development programs to improve skills.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise manufacturing processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or assembly role (preferred but not essential).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong analytical skills to assess production quality and troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Basic mechanical knowledge or experience operating production machinery (advantageous).
• Knowledge of welding techniques (advantageous).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience handling manual tasks and standing for extended periods.
