Senior Mental Health Practitioner

£23.2 - £27 per hourEstimated

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated and experienced part time Band 6 Senior Mental Health (MH) Practitioner to join our St Ives and St Neots Older People’s Community Mental Health Team. This is a great opportunity to join our effective and friendly team working with a client group with more complex mental health needs.

You will be part of a team comprising of Mental Health Practitioners and Support Workers. Working closely with Psychologists, OT and Psychiatrists thus enabling effective coordinated care delivery.

We provide service-user focused, evidence-based interventions for people aged 65 and over living in their own homes/care homes with either functional or organic mental health illness. We provide high quality assessment, treatment, and care coordination which is informed by your professional bodies and National policy.

The post has opportunities to develop skills and knowledge via training, working alongside experienced practitioners and to be involved in service improvement.

You will mainly be covering St Ives and St Neots but may also cover other areas of Huntingdon as needed, so regular travel is required. Successful applicants will need to have a drivers license and access to a vehicle for work.

The post is based at Newtown Centre, Huntingdon. CPFT supports agile working, with flexibility for work-life balance. Visits to the team are welcome.

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. Please confirm in your application that you meet the specified criteria.

As a practitioner in the team you will act as a Care Co-ordinator for people who use the service and promote carer involvement in the delivery of care with service user consent.

You will manage a caseload of service users, delivering a diverse range of clinical skills and building a therapeutic and recovery based relationship. We seek to empower service users to actively engage in their recovery journey, working toward an effective discharge and utilising third sector support where needed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under pressure at times, and with a desire for innovation.
