Job Title: PCN Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Team, Bournemouth East Primary Care Network
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 20-24 Hours
Salary: Salary range £31,049 - £36,055 FTE for pharmacy technicians who have not completed the CPPE Pathway, depending on experience. For candidates who have completed the CPPE Pathway, a higher salary is offered in excess of £37,500 FTE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our innovative Primary Care Network pharmacy team, supporting a population of over 53,000 patients across multiple GP practices. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while helping to shape and improve medicines optimisation services within primary care.

About us
Bournemouth East Collaborative Primary Care Network Ltd. comprises four practices working together in East Bournemouth, Dorset. The PCN serves a population of approximately 53,000 patients with a diverse demographic. Our network is forward thinking and is actively developing our network team of healthcare professionals. By working together, we use our combined skills to provide a service that is joined-up, holistic, proactive, and personal for the patient.

Our Network teams

• Enhanced Care Visiting team for frail housebound patients and those in care homes. The team includes visiting GPs, ANPs, Frailty Nurses, Care Coordinators, Clinical Pharmacist.
• BEC Treatment Centre working out of the Treatment Centre at Shelley Manor Medical Centre supported by GPs, ANPs, Respiratory Nurse and HCAs.
• First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioner service.
• Digital Lead
• Pharmacy team comprising of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
• Mental Health practitioners and Mental Health triage practitioners
• Health & Wellbeing Coaches and Social Prescribers within Help and Care team.

Job responsibilities
As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with Clinical Pharmacists, GPs, nurses, administrators, and other healthcare professionals within and outside of the organisation to ensure the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines. You will support a range of activities including medicines reconciliation, new patient medication reviews, prescription management, responding to medication queries, and identifying opportunities to improve patient outcomes in areas such as cardiovascular disease prevention. Another key area is supporting with the management/care of our patients with hypertension, through direct patient contact, up titration of medication and lifestyle counselling.

Experience
Desirable

• A minimum of two years post qualification experience is desired.
• Although an advantage to have knowledge and understanding of pharmacy practice in primary care, it is not essential, and training and support will be given.
• Completion of the CPPE pathway

Qualifications
Essential

• Hold a BTEC or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Pharmaceutical Services and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council GPhC, as a practicing Pharmacy Technician.
• Ability to undertake the 15-month CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway if not already completed
