IT Technician – Progressive Secondary School – Swindon (Wiltshire)

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Technician to join a progressive secondary school in Swindon. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology and enjoys supporting staff and students in a dynamic school environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the school’s IT systems, providing technical support and ensuring that all equipment is functioning effectively. You will work across a range of systems and technologies, supporting both teaching and administrative functions.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users. You will play a key role in ensuring that technology supports high-quality teaching and learning.
As IT Technician, you will be involved in troubleshooting issues, maintaining networks, supporting classroom technology and contributing to the development of the school’s IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to staff and students
• Maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software
• Support network infrastructure and systems
• Assist with classroom technology and digital resources
• Manage user accounts and permissions
• Contribute to IT development and improvement
Requirements:
• Relevant IT qualification or experience
• Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in a school setting (desirable)
• Proactive and flexible approach
