Agronomist - South of England - £40,000 - £50,000 + Mileage Allowance / Electric Company Car + Benefits 

The Job:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Agronomist to join a well-established independent agronomy business supporting professional growers across Dorset and Hampshire.
Working across combinable and vegetable crops, you'll provide technically robust and independent agronomy advice, helping farmers make informed decisions around crop production, nutrition, soil management and crop protection.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing agronomy support to a portfolio of existing and new clients
- Carrying out crop inspections and providing practical, technically sound recommendations
- Developing nutrient plans and advising on fertiliser and crop nutrition
- Advising growers on seed varieties and crop establishment
- Providing guidance on weed, pest and disease control and appropriate crop protection products
- Supporting soil management, soil protection and precision farming practices
- Using GPS soil mapping and other precision farming technology where appropriate
- Helping growers improve yields, reduce costs and maximise crop performance
- Building strong, long-term relationships with farmers and understanding their individual farming systems
- Working closely with the wider agronomy team and keeping up to date with industry developments and trials data

The Company:
An established independent agronomy business providing specialist advice to professional growers across the South of England. Established in 1985, the business operates a unique model in which its clients are shareholders and the organisation is overseen by a board of farmer-directors.
The company has a strong technical focus, drawing on independent AICC trials data alongside its own locally generated trials. With a genuinely people-focused culture and strong family values, the business is committed to supporting the professional development of its team.

The Candidate
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy or a related subject
- Proven experience providing agronomy advice to commercial growers
- Experience across combinable and/or vegetable crops
- BASIS and FACTS qualifications would be advantageous; candidates with BASIS who are looking to obtain FACTS will also be considered
- Strong knowledge of crop production, nutrition, soil management and crop protection
- Confident communicating with farmers and building strong professional relationships
- Previous experience in an advisory, sales, nutrition or crop production role would be advantageous
- Good attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office and other computer systems
- Able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team
- Genuine interest in agriculture, crops and improving farm performance
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region

The Package
- Salary £40,000 - £50,000+ DOE, with higher salaries available for highly experienced candidates
