SEN Teaching Assistant – September Start
Academics is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Brighton to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September.
This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
This position is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting children with SEN or an individual looking to develop a career within education and additional needs.
The Role
* Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant position for the full academic year.
* Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
* Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging learning activities.
* Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
* Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
* Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents and external professionals where required.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
* A patient, caring and empathetic approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
* Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
