Independent Small Animal Veterinary Practice | Up to £33,000 DOE | Full-Time

An established independent small animal veterinary practice in Angus, Scotland is seeking an Experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its friendly and close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and compassionate RVN looking to develop their skills within a supportive, independent practice that values clinical standards, teamwork, and work-life balance.

Based at the branch surgery where operations and hospitalisation are carried out, this role offers excellent exposure to surgical nursing, inpatient care, anaesthesia, diagnostics, and emergency support , making it ideal for a nurse seeking variety and responsibility within a progressive veterinary environment.

The Practice

This long-established independent veterinary practice has built a loyal and longstanding client base across Angus through exceptional patient care and strong community relationships. Operating from a main site and two branch surgeries, the recruiting branch serves as the hub for surgical procedures and hospitalisation , offering a varied and rewarding caseload.

The practice is well-equipped with modern diagnostic facilities, including:

• Digital X-ray
Ultrasound
• Comprehensive in-house laboratory
Abaxis in-house blood machines , enabling emergency diagnostic results in under 15 minutes
Merlin Practice Management System (PMS)

The successful candidate will join a welcoming and supportive team currently made up of:

• 1 Full-Time RVN
• 1 Part-Time RVN
• 1 Part-Time RVN/Receptionist
• 1 Receptionist

This position is available due to an upcoming departure in July, offering the opportunity to join a stable and well-established team.

The Role

The practice is seeking an experienced RVN who enjoys working within a collaborative team environment and takes pride in delivering high standards of patient and client care.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

Inpatient and hospitalisation care
Anaesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing
• Supporting veterinary surgeons during procedures
• Laboratory work and diagnostics
• Nurse consultations
• Maintaining excellent clinical standards and patient welfare
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the practice

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
1 in 4 Saturday mornings

The practice covers its own out-of-hours service, although RVN on-call responsibilities are extremely limited , typically only required when locum cover is in place.

As an independent veterinary practice , salary is flexible and negotiable depending on experience and level of responsibility.
