Experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Long-Term Locum or Permanent Opportunity – Salary up to £60,000 per annum

A thriving independent small animal practice in the Weybridge area is looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to its close-knit team. This opportunity is available on a long-term locum basis or a fixed-term contract, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right person.
This is an excellent role for a vet who enjoys building lasting client relationships, working within a supportive independent environment, and delivering high-quality patient care. The practice has established a strong reputation within the local community and benefits from a loyal and engaged client base who value continuity of care and a personal approach.
Initially, the role will involve working three days per week, ideally Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Tuesdays will include periods of sole charge, making this an ideal opportunity for a confident clinician who is comfortable managing cases independently when required.
The working week offers a varied caseload, combining consultations with surgery time. Mondays and Fridays typically begin with morning surgery sessions, followed by evening consultations. Tuesdays are consultation-focused, with the possibility of a surgical procedure during the day before evening appointments.
As the practice continues to grow and expand later this year, there may also be opportunities to increase working days for those seeking additional hours.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and capable small animal vet with strong clinical and surgical skills. They will enjoy investigating and managing medical cases to a high standard and take pride in providing excellent service to both patients and their owners. Confidence in sole charge is essential, while experience with ultrasonography would be welcomed, although support is available for more complex imaging cases.
Ideally, applicants will live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Weybridge area. The practice offers convenient on-site parking and is located close to local rail links.
In return, the successful candidate can expect a flexible start date, excellent salary up to £60,000 per annum, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position within a respected independent practice that continues to invest in its future.
