General Adult Clinical Support Secretary

An opportunity has arisen for a friendly, motivated and reliable individual to take on the role of Clinical Support Secretary to the Community Mental Health Team in West Fife.

The Support Secretary will be responsible for delivering robust and efficient administration support to the developing West Fife Community Mental Health Team.

You will directly support the Community Mental Health Team including the medical secretaries, team lead, nurses and medical staff based at Queen Margaret Hospital.

You will support the wider administration team ensuring delivery of essential digital services for patient contact including NHS Near Me and Community Mental Health Team Duty Line System

Candidates should be educated to equivalent of Standard Grade or have relevant experience. Good communication, excellent organisation, numerical and listening skills are essential. You will also have the ability to work as a member of a team or on your own initiative with minimal supervision. You must be computer literate, have excellent typing skills and previous secretarial experience is essential, including audio typing/digital dictation. Knowledge and experience of Patient Administration Systems would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.

You will be expected to attend in-house training opportunities for personal development and ongoing learning.

Flexibility to provide cover for holidays/illness may be required. You will be required, often at short notice, to travel to other sites from Dunfermline to Cupar to support the wider CMHT sectors across Fife.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
