You’ll be joining our Highways Civil Engineering Projects work winning team, as part of the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including highway and structure maintenance and improvement schemes. 

Purpose of role

As Data & Knowledge Manager within M Group Transport, you will play a critical role in enabling our bid team to produce high-quality, evidence-led submissions to win work across our sectors.

You will support development of operational solutions through data analysis, performance reporting and benchmarking. You will lead the development of PowerBi dashboards to enable interrogation of client and M Group performance to support estimating data and productivity libraries, as well as owning reporting of team win rates/quality scores.

You will own the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of our bid knowledge library, ensuring the bid teams have access to compelling, up-to-date content, case studies, proof points, evidence, accreditations and success stories.

Working closely with Bid Directors, Operational leads, Estimating and Writing teams, you will identify, capture and organise knowledge from across the business, ensuring our knowledge resources remain accurate, accessible and reflective of our evolving capabilities.

This role is ideally suited to someone with an analytical background, experience in handling large quantities of data and presenting it in accessible formats to support end user requirements. You will be an organised, proactive individual who enjoys working with multiple stakeholders and

Key responsibilities

  • Lead data analysis activities to support the work winning team, including creation of PowerBi dashboards to enable interrogation of client data and win rates/scoring.
  • Support development of operational solutions through data analysis, performance reporting and benchmarking.
  • Collate information and evidence from across the business in preparation for bids, including baselines for outputs and performance
  • Analyse contract performance and lessons learned to improve future bids and support best practice across the business.
  • Manage and curate the Bid Knowledge Library, ensuring easy access to evidence, case studies and previous responses.
  • Maintain estimating data and productivity libraries.
  • Support efficiency and innovation including AI deployment and automation.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Excellent IT and data analysis skills, particularly Excel, Power BI, Sharepoint and AI powered tools.
  • Strong SharePoint administration and content management experience
  • Proven ability to organise large volumes of information/data into logical, visual, user-friendly structures for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to challenge assumptions using evidence-based decision making.
  • Understanding of business intelligence principles, including data modelling, reporting and performance measurement.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders to capture, validate and disseminate organisational knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to produce written content and data summaries for varying levels of authority.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality management skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience within the transport sector.
  • Experience of work winning or tendering environments.
  • Experience using AI tools to support content development and knowledge management.
  • Professional qualification or certification in data analytics, business intelligence or knowledge management.
  • Experience developing Power Platform solutions, including Power Automate and Power Apps.
