About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and dedicated Pastoral Key Worker to join our team at Hillingdon Manor School. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of students by providing pastoral support, promoting wellbeing and helping them overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
Working closely with students, families, school staff and external professionals, you will build strong, positive relationships that support attendance, emotional wellbeing, behaviour and personal development. You will act as a key link between home and school, delivering targeted interventions, supporting vulnerable students through periods of challenge and ensuring every student feels safe, supported and valued.
Key responsibilities will include:
Building trusted relationships with students and their families.
Supporting attendance, engagement and positive outcomes through targeted interventions.
Providing emotional and practical support to students who may be experiencing social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
Working collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure students receive the support they need.
Monitoring attendance, behaviour and wellbeing, identifying concerns and implementing effective support strategies.
Conducting home visits where appropriate and maintaining regular communication with families.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience working with students, families or vulnerable individuals.
Can build positive, trusting relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Understands safeguarding and is committed to promoting student wellbeing.
Is resilient, empathetic and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
Can work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external agencies.
Has strong organisational skills and can maintain accurate records.
Holds a full UK driving licence.
Experience within a SEND, pastoral, family support, youth work, social care or alternative provision setting would be advantageous. Most importantly, you'll be passionate about helping students overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
