Associate Director, Internal Communications and Engagement

A member of the Seqirus Global Communications team, the Associate Director – Internal Engagement leads global employee communications and engagement across Seqirus, strengthening culture, alignment and connection to business priorities.The role translates CSL and Seqirus strategy, values and brand positioning into clear, timely and relevant employee and leadership communications that support performance, change and organisational effectiveness. Acting as a strategic communications business partner to the Seqirus Head of HR, the role supports leadership messaging, engagement and change initiatives across the employee lifecycle. Leading and developing Seqirus manufacturing site communications leads, the role ensures consistent, high‑quality local execution aligned to global frameworks, including support for site leadership, VIP visits and local public affairs and community engagement to advance commercial and reputational objectives. In addition, the role supports global Seqirus projects and transformation initiatives in a highly regulated environment.Principal AccountabilitiesStrategic Employee Communications and Team LeadershipDevelop and execute an integrated employee communications strategy aligned with Seqirus and enterprise-wide objectives.Lead the development and regular review of the overarching Seqirus global communication plan for employees, incorporating aligned messaging for each global function and major manufacturing sites.Ensures major Seqirus functional and/or site-based projects and programs, annual business processes and activities and events are effectively supported with comprehensive plans in place.Provide end‑to‑end communications leadership for the Seqirus Leadership Forum, including agenda development, messaging, executive support and follow‑up communications.Leads the development and execution of regular Seqirus business updates as well rolling messages, talk points and Q&As for dissemination to the Seqirus Leadership ForumLeads the ongoing development and education of employee communications policies, processes and workflows, and the building of employee communications capabilities across the organisation.Serve as the primary communications business partner to the Seqirus Head of HR and the HRLT, providing strategic counsel on leadership messaging, engagement, budget??, change and business prioritiesEnsure enterprise global and regional communication campaigns and initiatives are effectively localized to be timely, relevant and meaningful for Seqirus employees.Oversee and manage Seqirus site communications leadsEmployee Engagement & CulturePartner closely with Seqirus HR and Business Leadersto drive global internal engagement initiatives that strengthen employee connection to the company’s mission and performance objectivesLead the planning and delivery of key global engagement moments, including town halls, leadership forums and visits, fireside chats and feedback mechanisms.Lead communications capability-building initiatives for leaders to enhance their effectiveness as internal influencers and motivators.Reputation, Community & External EngagementOversee site communications support for manufacturing and R&D locations, ensuring alignment between site leadership priorities and global Seqirus messaging.Support site leadership teams in the planning and delivery of VIP visits, leadership engagements and key stakeholder moments to reinforce commercial, operational and reputational objectives.Guide and oversee site‑level public affairs, community engagement and local communications activities, in coordination with Corporate & External Affairs colleagues, to strengthen Seqirus’ local reputation and licence to operate.Content, Channels & MeasurementEnsure consistent, high-quality content for audiences across CSL and Seqirus owned channels, including intranet, enterprise platforms and employee communications tools.Establish and track communications metrics and insights to continuously improve engagement and effectiveness.Ensure all HR content across Seqirus channels is current, and that third‑party hosted profiles are accurate, compliant with brand guidelines, and reinforce agreed brand positioning.Travel requirementsAbility/willingness to travel to other company sites within CSL globally.Knowledge, Skills & CompetenciesStrategic thinking with strong business and operational acumenExceptional written, editorial and storytelling skillsStrong stakeholder management and influencing capabilityAbility to operate effectively under pressure and with ambiguityHigh personal credibility, sound judgement and attention to detailEducation RequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field required; postgraduate qualifications desirable.Experience Requirements10+ years’ experience in internal communications, preferably within manufacturing, R&D or highly regulated environments.Experience in leading teams.Proven experience advising senior leaders and managing communications in complex, matrixed organisations.Experience in change and transformation communications, issues management and crisis preparedness.Pharma, biotech or similarly regulated industry experience strongly preferred.The role is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week at the Maidenhead Head Office.About CSL SeqirusCSL Seqirus is part of CSL.
