Infrastructure Test Lead

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Test Lead to join our growing team and lead Infrastructure Testing across large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing Infrastructure Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT), Operational Readiness Testing (ORT) and Non-Functional Testing to ensure enterprise infrastructure is secure, resilient and production-ready.

You'll work closely with Infrastructure, DevOps, Cloud, Security, Operations and Application Delivery teams in a fast-paced environment delivering complex infrastructure and cloud transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Test Leadership

• Lead Infrastructure Testing, OAT, ORT and Non-Functional Testing activities.
• Develop test strategies, test plans, test scripts and execution plans.
• Define test scope, entry/exit criteria, traceability and risk mitigation.
• Manage the end-to-end test lifecycle, including defect management using Jira.
• Produce regular test status reports, dashboards and Go/No-Go recommendations.

Infrastructure Testing

Lead testing across enterprise infrastructure including:

• Windows, Linux and Unix servers
• VMware, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Hyper-V and Nutanix
• Enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, Firewalls, VPN)
• Storage, Backup & Recovery
• Azure (AWS/GCP desirable)
• Infrastructure patching, configuration and hardening
• High Availability, Failover and Disaster Recovery
• Monitoring and logging solutions (Splunk, Dynatrace etc.)

Operational Acceptance Testing

Validate production readiness including:

• Backup & Restore
• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
• Identity & Access Management
• Monitoring & Alerting
• Batch scheduling
• Runbooks, SOPs and operational documentation
• Incident, Problem and Change Management processes

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with Infrastructure Architects, Engineers, DevOps, Cloud and Operations teams.
• Coordinate testing activities across multiple workstreams.
• Manage test environments, dependencies and risks.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive best practices in Infrastructure Testing.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
• Support compliance with ITIL and industry best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading Infrastructure Testing within large enterprise environments.
• Strong background in Infrastructure Testing (mandatory).
• Experience testing enterprise infrastructure rather than software applications.
• VMware / VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• Windows, Linux & Unix
• Enterprise networking
• Azure infrastructure
• Backup, Recovery & High Availability
• Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT)
• Experience producing test plans, scripts, reports and test artefacts.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

Jira | PowerShell | Azure DevOps | VMware NSX | Oracle or SAP environments | TIL Foundation | Experience working within regulated industries ( Utilities, Financial Services, Healthcare )
