Background

This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of Friends of ANCHOR's fundraising programme. Supporting individual fundraisers, coordinating events and managing supporter relationships, you'll play a key role in helping us raise funds that make a direct difference to patients and families across the North-east of Scotland.

We’re looking for a capable, personable and highly organised individual with a minimum of three to four years’ experience in a relevant role. You will be dependable and bring enthusiasm, energy and pace to match our small, high-performing team. As a first point of contact for many of our supporters - by phone, email and in person - you will be professional, warm, and able to put people at ease quickly. You will also be a diligent record-keeper, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and confident working in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Essential skills and experience

· 3-4 years’ experience in customer service, fundraising, events, administration or stakeholder engagement

· Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

· Excellent attention to detail

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

· Basic digital/content skills and confidence using social media professionally

· Full UK driving licence (access to a charity pool car is provided when required)

Desirable skills and experience

· Experience using databases or CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge, Donorfy or Salesforce

· Experience in a charity or fundraising environment

Key attributes

· Proactive and solutions-focused

· Highly organised and reliable

· Accuracy and detail-oriented

· Comfortable working at pace

· Collaborative team player

· Confident working independently when required

Key responsibilities of the role

Fundraising support

Provide proactive, supporter-focused coordination across individual giving:

· Act as a responsive and professional first point of contact for supporter enquiries

· Deliver end-to-end support for individual fundraisers, including onboarding, providing materials, social media promotion, and ongoing engagement

· Ensure timely and personalised acknowledgement of fundraising efforts to support retention

· Support the delivery of fundraising campaigns and appeals including the charity’s milestone 30th anniversary year in 2027

Event coordination

Play a hands-on role in the charity’s events and campaigns throughout the year. You’ll take ownership of selected events and support wider programme delivery too:

· Take lead responsibility for end-to-end delivery of the charity’s challenge events including Kiltwalk, Beast Race, Edinburgh Marathon Festival, Ride the North and an annual Skydive. Manage recruitment and sign-ups, fundraising support and on-the-day operations.

· Support delivery of key events, including Brave and Courage on the Catwalk (P&J Live), Golf Event (Peterculter Golf Club and The Chester Hotel), Breakfast of Champions, our festive campaign, and our 30th anniversary programme

· Provide on-the-day support for events, including occasional evening and weekend work

· Support post-event follow-up, including income reconciliation and supporter stewardship

Data, administration and finance

Data is central to this role, and accuracy is critical. You will:

  • Maintain and update the CRM system as it pertains to your stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, consistency and GDPR compliance
  • Carry out data entry, cleansing and reporting to support fundraising performance and insight

· Process donations and support basic financial administration

  • Maintain organised records and documentation within SharePoint to support audit and reporting requirement

Success in this role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver an excellent experience for supporters and fundraisers
  • Coordinate challenge events efficiently and professionally
  • Maintain accurate supporter data and records
  • Contribute to income growth and supporter retention
  • Represent Friends of ANCHOR positively at all times

What we can offer you

We are a small, ambitious team that takes pride in delivering high-quality work and making a genuine difference.

You will work alongside supportive and dedicated colleagues, where your contribution will directly impact patients and families across the North-east of Scotland.

We offer:

  • A supportive, mission-driven working environment within our fundraising office on Queens Road in Aberdeen
  • Opportunities to develop your skills across fundraising, events and supporter engagement
  • A team social budget and a funded wellbeing programme delivered during working hours
  • Support and funding for training and professional development

Occasional out-of-hours work is required, typically around major events or campaign activity including challenge events managed by this post-holder. This is managed through time off in lieu, agreed with your manager.
