About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced teaching assistants for upcoming roles across the St Helens area. We are actively working with a number of primary schools across the borough who are recruiting for 1:1 specialists, general support staff, and also intervention TAs on a part-time and full-time basis. 

These roles will involve supporting pupils with SEN (ASD/ADHD), candidates with experience in 1:1 or SEN roles is desirable. We are also particularly interested in candidates who have experience in speech and language therapy. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30. Opportunities for permanent recruitment available for the successful candidate in the 2026/7 academic year.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered.
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both) or equivalent Level 2.
• Current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex.
• Experience working across the primary curriculum  
• Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly ASD
