Teaching Assistant

Our client, a highly regarded primary school in Pontefract, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a Teaching Assistant , you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of our students, working alongside our experienced teaching staff to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, tailoring your approach to meet the individual needs of each child
• Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging and age-appropriate lessons, working closely with the teaching staff to ensure a consistent and cohesive learning experience
• Encourage and facilitate active participation in classroom activities, fostering a love of learning and a positive attitude towards education
• Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents to support the overall development of each child
• Contribute to the creation of a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment, where all students feel valued and supported
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve your skills and knowledge
• Perform general classroom duties, such as preparing materials, organising resources, and maintaining a tidy and organised learning space

• A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a primary school setting
• A relevant educational qualification, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent
• A strong understanding of the UK primary school curriculum and the ability to adapt your teaching approach to meet the needs of different age groups and ability levels
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow staff members
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children, with a genuine passion for supporting their academic and personal growth
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure
