Job description
MPA Recruitment is recruiting experienced Temporary Cooks to work across nursing homes and Housing with Care settings in the Derry/Londonderry area.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Prepare nutritious meals for up to 40 residents.
- Cater for individual dietary and nutritional needs.
- Prepare modified diets and fluids in line with IDDSI.
- Maintain food safety, HACCP and allergen records.
- Manage stock, ordering and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Environmental Health and RQIA requirements.
- Oversee dining areas during mealtimes.
- Complete menu planning and other records using IT systems.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- QCF/NVQ Level 2 Catering or equivalent OR at least 1 year's professional cooking experience.
- Minimum 6 months professional cooking experience if qualified.
- Experience running a professional kitchen.
- Knowledge of food safety and Environmental Health standards.
- Experience with specialist diets and nutritional requirements.
- Stock control and budgeting experience.
- Good organisation and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Enhanced Access NI check required.
