Our Power team delivers high-value electrical infrastructure projects for some of the most demanding clients in the sector – from hyperscale data centre operators to major industrial and grid clients. We are building a team of exceptional project management professionals who can drive complex programmes from award through to energisation, and we want people who take real ownership of their projects

SCOPE OF ROLE
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial success of our civil engineering and utility contracts — leading everything from pricing and tendering to valuations and final accounts. Reporting to a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll manage risk, drive value, and bring a strong commercial voice to the table.

Day to day, you will:

• Subcontractor Management: build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships, negotiating rates, assessing applications and agreeing variations.

• Tendering & Bid Submissions: lead on tendering and bid submissions, covering pricing, terms and conditions, and commercial assessments.

• Cost Control & Reporting: own monthly valuations, applications for payment and variations control; produce accurate cost reports and CVRs across multiple high-value contracts; and maintain robust commercial systems and recordkeeping.

• Risk Management: proactively identify risks and take action before they become issues.

• Collaboration: work closely with delivery teams to align commercial and project goals.

• Mentoring & Team Culture: mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive team culture.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Proven experience in a similar role with exposure to high-budget projects within the Power, Utilities or civils sectors.

• Proficient in NEC3/NEC4 contracts and experience in infrastructure or civil project environments.

• Ability to produce detailed financial forecasts and manage cash flows effectively.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• Degree qualified or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

• Full UK driving licence / right to work in the UK

Desirable

• Chartered or incorporated status, or working towards it

• Relevant professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, ICES, CIOB) is highly desirable.
