Job summary
The Trust is seeking an enthusiastic GP to join the team on a part time basis, based at Brockfield house. The vacancy has arisen as the result of an expansion of medical establishment to the service.
This post provides three weekly clinical sessions to a medium and low secure service based at Brockfield House which houses approximately 100 inpatients. The role of the GP is to work closely with other health care professionals including psychiatrists, nursing staff, and the physical health nurse. The GP will be responsible for supporting the care pathway looking in particular at managing chronic physical health conditions, supporting the assessment and where necessary referral to secondary acute services outside of Brockfield House and to provide relevant primary care provision to the current inpatients at Brockfield House Main duties of the job
Duties and Responsibilities of the GP
To provide primary care input for inpatients at Brockfield House. (approximately 100)
It is expected that the GP will provide the necessary medical input to support the overall medical support to the MDT's.
Participate in MDT Risk Assessments and decisions about treatment where needed.
Provide general medical care, undertaking appropriate physical examinations and organising relevant investigations as deemed necessary.
Use appropriate therapeutic skills in the treatment of patients.
To work within the framework of the Care Programme Approach.

- Provide, with consultant colleagues, a service in the specialty for the Trust with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.

- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and on the GP Register
- Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
- General practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained
