We are excited to be working with an Outstanding secondary school in Barnet to recruit an enthusiastic English ECT. This full-time, permanent position starts in April 2026 and is a fantastic opportunity for a high-calibre practitioner to join a successful English department. We are looking for a teacher who can inspire and enthuse students to enjoy literature and language, fostering a desire to achieve their highest potential through a creative and inspirational approach.

Responsibilities
Teach engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 as a passionate subject specialist.
Contribute to the development of consistently outstanding quality of teaching and learning.
Work within a successful department of specialist teachers to drive student progress.
Use access to technology to enhance the delivery of the English curriculum.
Participate in a strong culture of professional development to refine your teaching practice.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in English Literature, Language, or a related discipline.
PGCE or QTS (pending or achieved).
Must have the right to work in the UK.
Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: £37,868 to £56,154 (Outer London).
Full-time, permanent position with a supportive and collaborative team culture.
Dedicated SLT member responsible for staff wellbeing.
Three-week paid induction available for ECTs in July.
