The Opportunity

The South Holland contract in Lincolnshire is currently at an exciting stage. It presently involves two separate sites: a temporary fitness suite and Group Exercise studio at Boston College and a swimming pool complex. However, the contract is less than a year away from moving into a single, brand new super centre. This new leisure centre will combine both current sites in early 2027 ,and these two old sites will close, and offer a wide range of state of the art facilities, including

• Two swimming pools
• Fitness Studio
• Soft Play area
• Group Exercise studio
• Sports Hall
• Indoor cycling studio
• Consultation rooms
• Wellness Room
• Small Cafe
• Indoor Bowls hall
• A new state of the art outdoor 3G training pitch.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary objectives for the Fitness Instructor will be:

• To ensure the safety and enjoyment of everybody using the health and fitness facilities.

• To promote excellence of customer service and motivate people to enjoy exercise through good communications and selling skills.

• To take responsibility for all aspects of the daily operation of the health and fitness facilities.

• To drive the Expressions brand and specifically to adhere to all operational and sales procedures.

The Fitness Instructor will focus day to day on the following tasks:

• To undertake the daily operations of the facilities.

• To undertake Inductions, Fitness Assessments and Personal Programmes in accordance with the expressions brand.

• To be aware of all Health and Safety issues within the Centre, and specifically the fitness and health facility, and to constantly implement and assess procedures, drawing attention to unsafe practices.

• To guide, care for and assist all fitness users especially in areas of motivation, well-being, nutrition, and fitness testing.

• To work as part of a team to achieve income and sales targets for the fitness and health facility.

• To take responsibility for ensuring the health and fitness facilities are clean, tidy and well presented at all times.

• To undertake maintenance work as required.

• To make sure all equipment and facilities are safe and secure when not in use.

• To undertake any reasonable request to assist with the daily operations of the Centre.

• To actively contribute to the Centre’s marketing and promotional activity, including participating in social media content, advertisements and marketing materials, and assisting in the development and implementation of centre marketing campaigns.

• To undertake membership sales calls and retention calls.

Qualifications

As the successful candidate you must be flexible, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team. You will ideally possess the level 3 or equivalent qualification and be willing to work variable hours, including some evenings and weekends.

DBS

The position of Fitness Instructor is classed as a regulated post and therefore requires a DBS Disclosure. Where the individual does not hold already hold a DBS Disclosure, it will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.
