Job description
We require a dedicated person to work as leader for Barnardo's Play for All Saturday Club in West Belfast. Prepare and plan activities for each Saturday Club session. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and plan activities for each Saturday Club session.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to the club.
- Attend supervision support meetings as required.
- Participate in group supervision meetings with other Club Leaders several times throughout the year.
- Work under the guidance and support of the Play for All Coordinator.
- Carry out all duties within the allocated contracted hours, including preparation, administration, and supervision activities.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Early Years or Play Work or Youth Work or other relevant subject.
- Experience of working with children in a group setting and setting up inclusive,high quality experiences suitable for different ages and stages of development.
- Demonstrable computer literacy and proficiency in using standard IT systems.
Further Information
Work Time: 90 hours annual. The club runs from 11am to 1pm on the first and third Saturday of each month during term time from September to June. The post is for ten hours a month during September to June, and you will be paid on an annualised basis over twelve months. The hours incorporate time for club preparation, keeping records and supervision support meetings. The Saturday Club Leader is responsible to and supported by the Play for All Coordinator and will attend group supervision meetings with other club leaders, a number of times per year. Barnardo's Play for All Saturday Clubs are for children with learning difficulties, sensory impairments and medical conditions between the ages of five and twelve. The children can bring along siblings, cousins or friends. The aim of the clubs is to provide play and fun activities for the children, to assist in the development of their self-esteem and to provide lasting health and wellbeing benefits.
