Full-time
Job Description

Work Location: County Hall, Glenfield, LE3 8RA

Salary: £39,939 - £42,699 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) (Pay Award Pending)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Closing Date: 4th June 2026

Are you motivated by making a real difference to the lives of children, families and survivors of domestic abuse and those who may need children social care support? We are seeking a Partnerships Commissioning Support Officer to join our Children and Families Service, where you will play a vital role in planning and supporting commissioning and procurement activity that directly shapes local services.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role, working at the heart of partnership commissioning. You will support the full commissioning cycle - from contributing to the needs assessment and evidence gathering through to procurement, evaluation and contract approval. A key focus of the role is supporting delivery of statutory responsibilities under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, working closely with colleagues across Public Health, Law and Governance, Community Safety, Finance and operational Children and Family Services.

You will contribute to the development of service specifications, options appraisals and reports for senior decision-makers, while also supporting data analysis, performance reporting and quality assurance activity. The role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including service providers and survivors of domestic abuse, helping to ensure commissioned services are effective, inclusive and evidence-led.

You will attend specific board meetings, groups and management meetings to confidently share commissioning updates as well as performance against service level agreements.

If you have strong analytical skills, experience of partnership working, and the confidence to support complex commissioning and procurement activity, this role offers the chance to develop your career while making a meaningful impact within a supportive, values-driven organisation

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

For information on our approach to the recruitment of ex-offenders, please see our policy statement.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:
  • Recognised Academic Qualifications e.g. 'GCSE', 'A' Levels, Vocational Quals, Professional/Further Education Quals in relevant area or work experience in this area
  • Experience of sourcing, analysing and presenting complex data, ensuring information is tailored appropriately for different audiences, including senior managers.
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency or partnership environment, building effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and procurement processes, including relevant legal or regulatory requirements for public sector commissioning.
  • Understanding of Children social care and legislation and issues affecting children, families and survivors of domestic abuse, including safeguarding, equality and barriers to accessing support, particularly for marginalised communities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write service specifications, reports, options appraisals and procurement documentation and present information clearly.
In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process.

Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability. We are a Disability Confident Employer.
