Private Equity Lawyer, Partner, leadership opportunity, existing relationships to £1.5 million

The private equity team at this well-respected international UK firm benefits from a clear strategy and a strong awareness of its market position. The sweet spot deals ranging from £30m to £300m (granted a rather broad range, and the bread and butter would be in the middle). The firm does not have aspirations to take on the top tier firms in the next bracket or fight it out with the US PE firms in London.
The corporate practice has 50 partners including 20 private equity partners. The firm has strength in all the areas of support and is well set up for downstream private equity with decent funds, tax, finance, regulatory and professional services teams. The associate team is also of excellent quality and there is a good leverage.
The firm represents sponsors and management, and is well positioned with highly regarded PE firms. Its strategy is clear: to continue to position the team along clear lines of work while reenforcing existing relationships.
The firm would like to recruit a mid-to-senior private equity partner in London. You can bring new relationships or build on existing ones. The brand will be an easy sell to private equity firm clients. There are also some other strategic initiatives which would be discussed in a meeting. The head of the PE team brings a refreshing and realistic approach which should resonate with PE partners at US and UK firms alike.
On a macro level the firm is performing well, growing in both equity partner numbers, revenue and profit, and has a fantastic corporate pedigree.
