Part-Time Nanny/Housekeeper

Location: Clapham, London, SW4

Position: Permanent, live-out

Start date: Around 1 November 2026, with some flexibility

Children: Two boys, aged three and seven

Salary: £22–£25+ gross per hour, depending on experience

A warm and welcoming family in Clapham is looking for an energetic, engaging and dependable nanny to care for their two boys, aged three and seven.

The family is open to considering either an after-school nanny or a nanny/housekeeper and would be pleased to hear from candidates interested in either arrangement.

Working Pattern

Nanny/housekeeper schedule:

Monday to Friday, approximately 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm, providing around 25 hours per week.

After-school nanny schedule:

Monday to Friday, approximately 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm, providing 15 hours per week.

Under the n anny/housekeeper arrangement, the first two hours would be devoted to light household duties before school collection. These would include laundry, tidying and household organisation, together with taking the family’s elderly dog for a gentle walk in the nearby park.

The family would also like the nanny to offer full-time availability during half terms and the Easter and summer holidays. Occasional evening support, approximately once every two weeks, may also be requested with notice.

Childcare responsibilities

• Collecting the children from their nearby school
  

• Providing attentive and engaging after-school care
  

• Planning enjoyable, age-appropriate activities
  

• Supporting the boys with their afternoon routines
  

• Keeping the children’s areas organised
  

• Providing occasional evening care when agreed
  

The eldest child has Type 1 diabetes. Previous experience would be welcomed but is not essential, as the family is experienced in providing full training. The successful candidate must be confident, responsible and comfortable learning the child’s established care routine.

Candidate requirements

The family is looking for someone who is:

• Warm, energetic and genuinely engaged with children
  

• Reliable, organised and confident working independently
  

• Experienced in caring for school-aged children
  

• Comfortable around dogs
  

• Willing to learn the child’s Type 1 diabetes-care routine
  

• Available for additional hours during school holidays, where possible
  

• In possession of an enhanced DBS, paediatric first-aid certificate and checkable references
  

• Legally entitled to work in the UK
  

Driving is not required, as the school is within easy walking distance of the family home.
