About the Role
At Glebedale School, our Learning Support Assistants are much more than classroom support. They are trusted adults, role models and advocates who help students overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve things they never thought possible.

Encouraging positive social, emotional and behavioural development
Recording progress and celebrating achievements, no matter how small
Occasionally supporting educational visits and transport arrangements where required
Who we are looking for
You don't need to have worked in a school before. We welcome applications from people who are passionate about supporting young people and making a difference.
GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 4 or above) or equivalent required
Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
A caring, resilient and patient approach
The ability to remain calm and positive when faced with challenges
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life

About us
Glebedale School is a special needs school which provides provision for ages 7 years and upwards. We provide a nurturing and welcoming environment to SEMH students, and our curriculum has a keen focus on therapy, education and personal development. Our school aims to help students grow academically, socially and emotionally to enable them to become capable future citizens.
We provide education to 40 students from the Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire areas. At our last Ofsted in July 2025, we were rated “Good”.
At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.
We are proud to be a part of OFG Education who in 2025 were officially certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for the sixth year running.
Why Join Us?
We place students and vulnerable young adults at the heart of everything we do, so every day brings the satisfaction of making a real difference. We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.
