I am a retired physically disabled man and wheelchair user requiring support to do social activities in the community.
I like going out and about, such as going to the theatre, eating out and I have a keen interest in attending auctions. However, I need some support to do this.
I am looking for a personal assistant to drive me places using my motability vehicle and joining me in various activities so similar interests or an open mind/curiosity would be an advantage. All expenses covered by the employer.
You will be added to my car insurance, however, a clean driving licence is essential for this job. Applicants should ideally be over the age of 25 for car-insurance purposes.
Essential criteria: good communication and listening skills, reliable, trustworthy and responsible. Must be physically fit as some lifting may be involved when assisting with transfers.
Training/experience in manual handling would be desirable.
You must be PVG registered or willing to take registration. Fees for a new registration covered by the employer.
Hours: Negotiable – Average 6 hours per week (this may consist of 2 or 3
visits per week).
Pay rate: £13.65 per hour
