Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer - West Yorkshire - Freelance Outside IR35 

Working with a Contractor who are seeking a Quality Engineer to work on a large project in Yorkshire on Civil Engineering, Public works such as kerbing, drainage and Public realm. 

The role oversees quality assurance and quality control throughout the construction phase, ensuring works are inspected, tested, recorded and signed off before progressing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

• Coordinate inspections, testing and Hold Points.

• Verify materials and workmanship comply with project specifications.

• Complete and maintain Inspection Test Records (ITRs), quality records and photographic evidence.

• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

• Liaise with the client, principal contractor and site teams on all quality matters.

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and company quality procedures.

• Prepare quality documentation for project completion and handover.

Experience needed: 

• Experience in construction quality management within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

• Good knowledge of ITPs, ITRs, quality assurance processes and inspection procedures.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Competent in Microsoft Office and digital quality management systems.

Rate:  DOE 

Location: West Yorkshire
