ERP System Support Officer

£39.48k - £43.15k per annum
Full-time

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to join our developing and expanding Transactional Services team providing a shared service across both Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils as an ERP System Support Officer focussing on the Finance modules within Unit4 ERP.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated officer to join our ERP Support team. This is a key role in supporting, developing and improving our Enterprise Resource Planning application to support the delivery of critical Finance processes. As part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you will provide support for ERP HR and Payroll modules, troubleshoot complex issues, manage system developments and configuration changes to ensure our business-critical system processes remain stable, compliant and fit for purpose.

Cheshire West and Chester Council is a place where everyone can Thrive – through our core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Innovation, Value for Money and Empowerment.

The ideal candidate will be a process driven individual with a keen eye for detail who has experience supporting ERP, HR/Payroll and Finance systems. In the role you will undertake a range of daily activities relating to the process investigation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting required to ensure a stable, efficient and effective financial and payroll application (Unit4).

Knowledge of the Unit4 application would be desirable as would experience in a similar system support role. The role also has key responsibilities in undertaking helpdesk activity; providing excellent technical support, customer service and advice to our colleagues who process a range of daily activities across Finance.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing functional and configuration support for Unit4 ERP Finance modules
  • Investigating and resolving system defects, incidents and data issues
  • Managing service requests, configuration changes and system developments through the full lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment
  • Supporting upgrades, testing, release management and other system administration activities
  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective ERP solutions
  • Acting as a subject matter expert within designated Finance areas

This role would suit someone with significant IT experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills and an ability to interpret and present data in a meaningful way. A pro-active and positive attitude with the ability to manage pressure effectively within a fast-paced environment is key.

This is an agile post which means working in one of our modern ‘Hub’ style offices in locations across the borough as well as the opportunity to work from home where suitable. The benefits of working for the Council go well beyond making a difference to people’s lives; as well as working within a supportive environment with people who share your values you will have access to a range of benefits.

We are incredibly proud to be Investors in People ‘Silver’ status, which illustrates that we care about our people and are ambitious to do even more for them. We truly are an amazing place to work!

If your experience looks a little different from what we've identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to learn more about you!
